Well, it's been a rough run. When I'd first set up my website, Wedding Jewelry Designs, I thought it would just become a business and start taking orders... Little did I know at that time what was to become of my website......
I hired a lovely woman in India to fill in the attributes (colors, sizes, etc.) of the Swarovski Crystals, Earring Styles, Pearls, etc..... which at first went great............ I thought that it would be a time and money saving choice........... After all, some earrings had 4 crystals, each having over 60 color choices....let's see, that was 240 data entries for just the crystal choices for one earring! It was a monumental task........................ Little by little, she filled in the data, but there always seemed to be a bit missing.......................
When all was said and done, most was missing, and then 85% of the work she had done magically disappeared! I was horrified.... I finally found out that she lived in an area of India where phone and web service was poor at best. Each time her computer went down while she was in my database, it punched a hole in the data, and finally crashed the database.............. Unfortunately, I was with a large web host, and they didn't back up the mysql data, and no one had told me that it was my job to do so!!!
So, my poor site sat, taking occasional orders until it was hacked..............hacked over and over again, because there were security flaws in Cre Loaded 6.2, and the site needed to be upgraded to the newest version, or it would continue being hacked. So, I bit the bullet and put more money into my wedding jewelry site......... I am so glad I did! It gave me new creative ideas, juice to really work the site, and I can happily report that the site is up, operational and selling bridal jewelry.
